There is a button under the reel’s base that closes the feed automatically in the moment when the angler picks up the rod and strikes, i.e. it is no longer necessary to wind the crank to close the free run mechanism – a huge advantage if a strike must be made fast and without delay. The free-run can be closed by winding the crank also… but, we bet, you won’t want to do that ever again.
